PERSONAL

Antonia was born in Athens and raised in Atalanti, a small town in central Greece. Coming from a family deeply rooted in athletics, she found her passion for sports at a young age, with her father, Ioannis TSAPALIS, a track and field coach and graduate of the Democritus University of Thrace, guiding her from a young age. Her mother, Anastasia VRECHOPOULOU also a graduate of the same university with expertise in sports and gymnastics, has greatly influenced her athletic upbringing.
Both of her two older sisters excelled in track and field, with one achieving 3rd place in the 3000m steeplechase at the Panhellenic Championship in 2020, inspiring Antonia to follow in her footsteps by competing in the same event. Growing up, she also competed in tennis tournaments, before fully dedicating herself to track and field during her middle school years. With her family’s vast experience in athletics and her own determination, she continues to grow and excel in her sport.
