ATHLETICS
2022-2023: Giannis won Junior Nationals in the 400m, 800m free and came 2nd in the 1500m free. He also won the Nationals Men’s Open Water and qualified for the World Beach Games, the Mediterranean Beach Games, the Mediterranean Junior OWS Championship and the European Junior OWS Championship. He placed 38th in Men’s LEN Open Water Cup in Israel and also participated in the Multination Junior Meet in Cyprus with the National Team.
2021-2022: Giannis won Junior Nationals Open Water in 7.5k. He placed 14th in 7.5k and 6th in the 5k relay in the European Junior OWS Championship in Portugal. He also participated in the Multination Youth Meet in Cyprus with the National Team and took the bronze medal in the 800m free relay. Later this season, he participated in the Mediterranean Junior OWS Championship in Serbia and placed 7th in the 7.5k.
2020-2021: Giannis at the age of 15 participated in the Bulgarian Open Championship and came 5th in the 400m and 800m free and 7th in the 200m free. He also had the top times in the 400m, 800m and 1500m free that season but did not participate in the Nationals due to an injury.
2019-2020: Giannis won Junior Nationals in the 200m, 800m and 1500m free, set a new National Record in the 800m free and was awarded the “Best Junior Male Athlete of the Championship” title.

PERSONAL
Giannis was born in Kavala, a small town in Northern Greece. He has a sister, Zoe, who’s 14 y.o. and is also a swimmer. His father graduated from Boston University School of management ’86. Giannis started swimming at the age of 6 and since the age of 9 he has been travelling nationally and internationally for meets. Giannis not only is an excellent swimmer, but is also a superb student (GPA 4.0), which shows how disciplined he is as a student-athlete.
