ATHLETICS

Giannis (John) started swimming in 2009 at the age of three. He specializes in backstroke sprint events (50m, 100m), as well as in the 50m fly.
2023-2024: At Winter Nationals, Giannis came 2nd in the 50m Back, 3rd in the 50m Fly and 3rd in the 100 Back. At the last meet of the season, Giannis qualified for the final phase of Junior Nationals and managed to get 5th place in the 50m Back and 7th in the 50m Fly. He also won many medals in a couple regional meets and improved his 50 -100m Fly, and 50-100m Free PBs.
2022-2023: Giannis came 2nd in the 50m back and 4th in the 100m back at Junior Nationals. He also came 4th in the 50m fly at Winter Nationals.
2021-2022: Giannis in that season ranked 1st at the High School Nationals in the 50m backstroke. At Junior Nationals, he ranked 3rd in the 50m backstroke and 4th in the 50m butterfly.
2020-2021: Giannis was the runner-up Champion in the 50m back at Junior Nationals.
2019-2020: No official meets took place during this season due to Covid-19
2018-2019: Giannis came 2nd at junior Nationals in the 50m back.

AQUANEX™  

Like all our Swimmers Giannis has been included in our Aquanex™ Program of Swimming Technique and Power Analysis and Improvement.  Recording files and analysis reviews are available upon request.

PERSONAL

Giannis was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He has an older sister, Theodora, (18 y.o.),  who is a swimmer and a lifeguard, as well as a younger brother, Taxiarchis, (15 y.o.) who is also a swimmer. His father, Costas, is involved in the hospitality sector, and his mother, Vasso, is a computer science teacher. He is currently attending a public high school and throughout al his academic years he has been always awarded as an excellent student (GPA 4.0).
