Orestis TSILIPANOS

BIO

Orestis has been playing basketball since he was eight years old. He started in Panathinaikos BC academy for fun and was always competing against older kids. Due to the restrictions on sports during Covid-19, he decided to practice in his backyard until his parents found a friend and basketball coach who convinced him to start again in the Melissia Basketball Club and their academies. He moved to AENK BC in 2025 to help his game and college recruitment process with better options. He considers himself a ‘coach player,’ and is always looking for mistakes in the other team’s movement and get the deflections. Basketball and other sports have taught him to work in a team, be disciplined, and respect both others and himself.

Orestis had also been selected for the Greek National Youth Basketball Team of 2008 boys. He was also part of the Hellenic Basketball Federation development program, as well as for the Attica Basketball Club League (ΕΣΚΑ), for those born in 2008.
Lead the U16 Melissia BC Team to the finals for the first time in 12 years. Averaging more than 32 minutes each game with a double-double in scoring and rebounding, including the finals.

He currently attends the Athens College, for which he studies hard and maintains a high grade average (above 18 out of 20-3.7 GPA and above). He has participated in various Math Competitions such as “Kangaroo”, “Games & Mathematics” and “PYTHAGORAS” as well as Talented Youth Competitions such as the talent search program of Johns Hopkins University. It’s a big dream of his to attend a college where he can excel both in the classroom and on the basketball court.

Got a full sponsorship to attend the Camp of TrenchWork Sports visiting Athens, Greece for 2023.
Eurohoops Showcase 2023
Purpose: To bring together student-athletes from all over Europe, Africa and Asia to play in front of European media & scouts in order to increase exposure for college scholarships and professional opportunities. Competed as part of the ΕΣΚΑ-2008 team from the Hellenic Basketball Federation.
Personal training USA, NY
Orestis had the opportunity to practice and compete in various events as well as private training sessions with PROHOOPS coaches in New York over the summers of 2023 and 2024. Marcus Stout (from TrenchWork Sports, a former NBA player) recommended these private training sessions, and Orestis had the opportunity to work with coaches Ross Burns and Luke Bolster.
