ATHLETICS

2023-2024: At Winter nationals Vasiliki came 2nd in the 400m and 1500m Free and 3rd in the 800m Free. Vasiliki also qualified for the Multination Youth Swimming Meet with the National Team in Skopje, North Macedonia and participated in the 800m free and the 800 Free Relay, where she helped her country get 2nd overall. Vasiliki also qualified for COMEN Cup, (Mediterranean Swimming Meet) that took place in Limassol, Cyprus where she swam the 400m and 800m Free and the 800m Free relay. At the last meet of the season, Vasiliki qualified for the final phase of Junior Nationals and managed to get 2nd place in the 200m Back, 3rd place in the 400m Free and 4th place in the 1500m Free. She also won a few medals in a couple regional meets and improved her 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m Free PBs, as well as her 200m Back and IM PBs.
2022-2023: During Winter Junior Nationals, Silia came 2nd at the 1500m free, and 3rd at the 400m and 800m free, along with 3 gold medal in her relays. She also qualified for joining the Junior National Team of Greece, a goal that only few swimmers get to achieve. Her girls’ team once again scored the most point at Junior Nationals and became Champions.
During the Summer Nationals, 2nd place at 1500m freestyle, 2nd place at 400m freestyle , 3rd place at 400 medley and 2 golden medals at relays and 1 bronze. That was the best year
2021-2022: Silia came 3rd at the 400m and 800m free and 4th at 200m free. She also won 6 gold medals in her relays at Junior Nationals.
Silia states: “That was the year that changed my life as a swimmer since my coach believed in me.” The girls of her team scored the most points at Junior Nationals and became National Champions. She also won many medals at smaller meets during that season.
2019-2021: During Covid, Silia participated at a few regional meets winning medals, but there were no National Championships for her to showcase her talent.

PERSONAL

Silia started swimming at the age of 3, since she loved water from the day she was born. She lives in Palaio Faliro, a suburb of Athens, Greece. Her grand father was a National Champion for over 20 years in motorcycle races and her two cousins were both National Champions in running and race walking. One of them came 2nd at Europeans and 3rd  at the Youth Olympic Games in race walking.
In 2021, Silia achieved a full scholarship an decided to pursue her academics at the American College of Greece, since her goal is to continue her athletic and academic career in the US. She also joined the team of DEREE (American College of Greece ) which is currently in the top Junior Teams nationally. Silia is also interested in swimming Open Water events, with September of 2023 being her first participation at such a race with an unfortunate injury during her swimming.
Academically, Silia is also known for her academic success as she is a student with a GPA 4.0
